Having read Rob Norrington's assasination of the Powerush Rally it would be tempting to turn the tables upon him... But I won't because it's not worth the slagging off and general ill feelings.

Sarah Harmer and Cath Woodman dominated Chelmsford MC's Preston Rally. They took an early lead on the whites and were never headed. Close behind came a whole gaggle of fancied crews who were unable to match their speed. Roger and Paul Ray took the award as first Semi-Experts, placing a fine 7th O/A with no fails and 26 minutes. An even more impressive performance was recorded by first Novices N Hunt/H Pridmore who brought their Astra home 11th.

CoC Rob Norrington promised a return to traditional Preston values and that is what he delivered. 70 miles of whites coupled with simple navigation and tight timing proved just the combination to get everyone to the finish with smiles on their faces. Road rallying as it should be. Once at the finish the flack began to fly and road rallying as it should be became reduced to arguements and disagreements. These detracted somewhat from the final results and a number of crews left feeling that the final results didn't accurately reflect their performance on the night.
